Nanuk – Jack Wolfskin’s fleece technology
Fleece is an easy-care insulation material that effectively draws humidity out in a layering system. Because fleece is not very wind-resistant, it can be worn with a matching functional jacket if required. Just how warm fleece is depends on the material thickness and type of construction.
The material thickness of a fleece is given in grams per square metre (g/m2). The higher the number of grams, the thicker and warmer the fleece is. Numbers in product names, e.g. Nanuk 100, show the material thickness. Material thicknesses at Jack Wolfskin range from Nanuk 100 (g/m²) to Nanuk 400 (g/m²).

The lightest and thinnest Jack Wolfskin fleece which is used for the Gecko Kids as well as the Sandpiper boys/girls fleece.
